It’s a big Friday for Team Breezy.
We started the day with Chris dropping Obvious, the next single from his 12th studio album, Brown. He then announced the album will drop May 8!
“Obvious” continues the thread of his BROWN era singles that began with the pop-tinged “Holy Blindfold,” followed by the Bryson Tiller-assisted “It Depends,” which peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100.
The latter track, released in July, became certified gold by the RIAA just three months after its release, with over 500,000 equivalent units sold in the U.S.
Around the time of its certification, Brown dropped a remix featuring Usher. It won Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Contemporary) at the 2026 NAACP Image Awards, as well as the standard version (Outstanding Soul/R&B Song).
BROWN will follow his 2023 chart-topping, Grammy winning album 11:11, which included the No. 1 hits “Sensational” with Davido and Lojay and “Summer Too Hot.”
That’s not it! Chris and Usher has announced their upcoming stadium tour, R&B (Raymond & Brown). Dates and on sale times have not been released.
