Chris Brown full of contradictions in Chicago show
November 27th, 2009 | No Comments »

“You know your boy’s single, right?” This disarmingly simple question, posed by singer Chris Brown near the onset of his concert at a crowded House of Blues on Thursday, is as close as the singer got to discussing the troublesome events of the last year.

In June, Brown plead guilty on charges he assaulted then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna, and was sentenced to five years probation, one year of domestic abuse counseling and six months of community service. Thanksgiving night, the 20-year-old singer — with a small assist from Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco — continued the work of rehabilitating his battered public image.

‘GMA’ Books Chris Brown after Canceling Adam Lambert
November 26th, 2009 | No Comments »

No sooner than Good Morning America canceled Adam Lambert’s appearance after his controversial turn at the American Music Awards, than it emerges that ABC will welcome Chris Brown for an interview and performance on the show next week.
Chris, 20, will do a taped tell-all with Robin Roberts, followed by a rendition of his songs from his new album, reports the New York Post.

“The network is giving a mixed message,” an ABC source tells the newspaper, “that it doesn’t trust someone who shocked with an unpredictable show and a gay kiss, but then it is happy to go ahead with Chris Brown, who was convicted of felony assault.”

ABC insiders say Glambert was ditched from GMA because he proved — after groping a female dancer, kissing a male keyboard player and simulating a sex-act with a male dancer on Sunday night — that he was inappropriate for morning television.

Chris Brown was dropped from Shock Value II
November 24th, 2009 | No Comments »

Chris Brown was officially dropped from a track on Timbaland’s new album — and sources tell TMZ, the decision wasn’t entirely about the music.

Timbaland Axes Chris Brown

A source close to Brown tells TMZ the singer’s vocals were removed from a song called “The One I Love” due to the “drama” surrounding him.

Tim’s manager, Marcus Spence, confirms Brown was dropped from the song — but insists the move was a “creative decision for both parties” adding, “There’s nothing against Chris. We love Chris.”

But according to rapper D.O.E. — who does appear on the track — the song was originally called “Maniac” … but was changed because “some people” didn’t think it would be a good idea to attach Brown to a song with that title.

Funny enough — Timbaland’s album will be released the same day as Brown’s … December 8th.

Chris Brown thrills with dance moves at his hometown comeback concert

In the court of public opinion, at least 3,500 females in central Virginia have forgiven Chris Brown.

They roared. They cried. They rushed the stage.

And that was just in the 40 seconds from when Brown crept onstage and the lights kicked in to reveal the R&B heartthrob, clad head-to-toe in black, surrounded by a quartet of dancers.

Security was no match for this teeming mob of over-zealous young girls who shoved forward, phones and PDAs aloft in a blur of flash pops, as they tried desperately to get within touching distance of a guy who was just as rigorously proving himself worthy of adulation.

The Tappahannock native is in the midst of the 18-date Fan Appreciation Tour — aka the Please Still Love Me Tour — which is playing in theaters and clubs, an intentional downsizing from his 2008 arena spectacle as the 20-year-old checks the pulse of his career.

Chris Brown’s Declining Demand
November 24th, 2009 | No Comments »

Afer reading this I just get so upset! I hope Chris lands on his feet! Come on yall we gotta support our boy!

He used to be one of the hottest tickets in town, but according to ticket scalpers, Chris Brown is losing his appeal with concert goers.

The “Kiss Kiss” hitmaker played a gig at the Avalon in Hollywood last night, and the show’s sold out status had more to do with the small venue size than with demand for tickets.

Danny McElroy, who bought extra tickets to the concert in hopes of selling some of them off for profit, told press he had trouble unloading the seats on the morning of the event.

“It seems he lost a lot more fans than I expected. The Avalon is small and I expected it to sell out the first day, but it didn’t. I’m not much of a fan, but I bought these tickets for my girlfriend. I’ve had trouble selling (them). I’m just trying to get back what I paid for them.”
