NEW YORK – ABC says Chris Brown will appear on its “20/20″ newsmagazine Dec. 11.
In what’s billed as an in-depth interview, the singer will discuss his assault of ex-girlfriend and recording superstar Rihanna in February. He is on probation for the beating.
Robin Roberts, anchor of ABC’s “Good Morning America,” conducts the interview. It was taped last weekend.
ABC spokesman Jeffrey Schneider says clips may also air on “Good Morning America.” He says Brown will not perform live.
Brown is scheduled to release his album “Graffiti” on Dec. 8. He has previously spoken about the attack on MTV News and “Larry King Live.”
Rihanna was interviewed this month by ABC’s Diane Sawyer.

Chris Brown’s anticipated return to the stage at Power 105.1′s Powerhouse 09′ appears to be just a taste of what’s to come.
According to Brown, a multiple city fan appreciation tour is in the works and could very well happen by years end.
Speaking of his forthcoming plans, Brown told fans on Twitter “bout to start a small tour soon.. 15 to 20 dates… my fan appreciation tour,” Monday.
Telling fans it’s just for them, Brown promised the venues would be “nothin’ bigger than 4,000 seaters”.
Brown’s tour plans come just days after the debut of his single “I Can Transform Ya,”.
An official announcement, inclusive of dates and ticketing information, had not been made at press time.
