After hearing the devastating news of Michael Jackson’s death, we went home to prepare to venture to the BET Awards in LA. Anticipating at least a video montage, we know that the BET team is most likely scrambling to include some sort of performance in the King of Pop’s honor. A thought crossed our minds that we found to be quite interesting. Who could really do an MJ tribute that does the world’s greatest entertainer justice? Chris Brown, of course.
However, with the perilous months that Brown has experienced, he is hardly in anyone’s good graces. Celeb or not. But, could a performance of monumental proportions begin to heal the wounds of disappointment and anger that our little golden boy administered in February. Think back to the 2007 World Music Awards where Brown performed an amazing rendition of MJ’s Thriller, along with impromptu performances at previous BET award shows that left us speechless. I know this isnt Chris Related, but we DEF have to send prayers out to the whole Jackson family. A legend has passed. And needless to say that he influenced Chris’s career. This is a very sad day in music. This just won’t ever be the same again…..
» LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) – A plea deal has been reached in the assault case against singer Chris Brown, defense attorney Mark Geragos said in a hearing Monday.
Chris Brown will serve five years of probation and 180 days community service.
Under terms of the agreement, Brown will serve five years of probation and complete 180 days of community service.
Brown, 20, had previously pleaded not guilty to felony counts of assault and making criminal threats in connection with an attack on his girlfriend, Rihanna, also a singer.
Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, was in court briefly for the Monday hearing.
LOS ANGELES – Chris Brown’s felony assault case is about to enter a key phase.
The R&B singer is due back in court Monday afternoon for a preliminary hearing that could feature testimony from Rihanna and a crucial ruling by a judge in Los Angeles.
Brown was arrested in February on suspicion of hitting and threatening then-girlfriend Rihanna after a pre-Grammy party.
A judge will decide after listening to testimony whether the case against Brown should continue to trial.
Dozens of reporters have signed up to cover Monday’s hearing, which is expected to last several hours.
Rihanna’s attorney, Donald Etra, says the 21-year-old singer will appear and testify if she is called to the stand.
Like I stated in a previous post, Chris will be working with Mary J. Blige. Well below you can hear the song. LET ME SAY, I only hear Chris on the chorus (I THINK), maybe this is the unfinished version and he will be added later? But it will be a hot song, if this is infact the one he will be on.
